To supplement or not to supplement? That is the question!
Ok, here I go… without sounding like I work for the following company (I don’t) I’ve finally found a supplement line I can work with. IDLife.
But, before i go into what make this company extraordinary, I’m going to tell you what I think of supplementation and the industry, in only the way I know. Crap. The supplement industry is total crap, wrapped in a pretty package made of crap and sold at even crappier stores nation wide. Bill, how do you really feel though?
Since high school, I’ve constantly rode my shitty little bike to the closest GNC and spent my hard earned money on some bottle that promised me HUGE GAINZ and remarkable recovery. Honestly, looking back, that GNC and the man behind the counter was like my street peddler for “legal” supplements. And if any of you remember, there was always that stash, in the storage room, that he couldn’t keep out front, that was, ” the real deal”. I cannot begin to tell you, how many different bottles of garbage I spent my hard earned paper route money on…
Did some of them work? Who the hell knows, possibly? Maybe? I really can’t say. The hardest part for me, back then was staying on top of the doses and maintaining the right cycle, blah blah blah. I go work out, shred some weight, make some noise at the gym and think to myself, GAINZ GAINZ UNBELIEVABLE GAINZ!!! MUST BE THE STACKER3000 AND THE SUPERCREATINE FORMULA8 GIGGA FUCK100!! And then i go back to the GNC and pay 100.00 for some other crap that’s supposedly better than last months crap.
Lets fast forward back to today. I’ve spent more than I care to admit and looking back, half of the things I ingested probably did more harm than good. And that is where the problems begin.
The supplement industry is a billion dollar industry. BILLION. With ZERO regulation. Anyone and I mean anyone can startup a company put some crap in pill form and sell it on the market. So how do you know what you’re really getting? Look, I’m not saying that all companies are trying to sell you crap and only profit, but unfortunately I’m a skeptic as most people, and want data, AND want some kind of regulatory practices.
So why then IDlife? Well for starters before any supplements are purchased, there is an assessment that is pretty involved (takes about 30 min) before data is spit out for you to read and then what they (IDlife) suggest to take! HOLY SHIT RIGHT! An actual guideline for supplementation for what you need, not what you think you need!! Mind blown, I know. And if you’re still reading, understand this, supplements should be filling the gaps in your nutrition to make you whole, and not deficient in any one particular area. WOW. So instead of going to GNC and buying what you think you need, do some research, of pick my brain. Either way, you’re gonna learn something, and maybe just maybe feel a little better about using supplements to fit your lifestyle.
