Empire Health & Wellness

At Empire Health and Wellness, Dr. Shannon is isn’t your “typical” chiropractor. Most people think of a cracking, popping, forceful chiropractic adjustment when they think of seeing a chiropractor. Dr. Shannon’s approach focuses heavily on soft tissue work, releasing and activating your muscles to relieve issues such as:

  • Achilles, ankle and foot problems
  • Breathing issues
  • Breech pregnancy
  • Core and pelvic floor dysfunction
  • Headaches
  • Hip and hip flexor problems
  • Lower back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Pregnancy-related pain
  • Scar tissue
  • Sciatica
  • Shoulder issues
  • Stability problems

Addressing Your Full Body Needs:

The benefits of chiropractic that our patients report include decreased pain and tension, an increased range of motion, and an enhancement of their mind and body awareness. With Dr. Shannon’s techniques, you won’t have the typical twisting and popping that you associate with chiropractors. She utilizes soft tissue work predominantly but adjusts when necessary, which includes instrument-assisted methods. The Hypervolt massage gun may also be advised, along with trigger point work.

If an adjustment is necessary, Dr. Shannon doesn’t need to be forceful and instead uses a high- velocity touch to produce the changes we want to see.

How Long Will You Continue Care?:

Many people are under the false impression that if they go to a chiropractor once, they have to continue forever. This myth is commonly believed because those who experience chiropractic care feel so good that they want to stay that way and continue seeing their chiropractor.

It’s Dr. Shannon’s goal that you’ll get to a point where you don’t need to see her often. We recommend maintenance treatments once a month or every couple of months to keep your mind and body in tune, especially for all you CrossFitters!
