Responsible Rep Resolution

The best year I’ve had in all my life was the year that began with a New Year’s resolution of, DRINK MORE WATER.

I think the simplicity of my resolution lent itself to a world of possibilities.

We all know a few too many people who have resolved to lose weight in the New Year or say things like, “I will not eat one cookie all year.”   How many of those people have succeeded?

This got me thinking… What can I choose this year that is as simple as “drink more water,” but equally as effective in keeping myself healthy for the forthcoming year!  And here it is…

 

JD’s RESPONSIBLE REPS RESOLUTION.

“I, Jackie Derasmo, will count each rep of every WOD.

I will NOT lose count.

If by some chance I do, I will start back at ZERO.

I will NOT cheat myself with bad form.

I will break parallel. I will stay in my heels. I will stay tight through my midsection.  I will fully extend my hips, I will get my head through, I will activate my shoulders….

I will do what it takes to make each rep perfect…

And if I don’t, the rep won’t count.”

 

It’s that simple.  It’s that complicated.

    right on, jd. when i lose count, i add on more reps, cause i don’t want to cheat myself out of a good workout. plus, it’s interesting to see how much more i’m willing to push myself.

    and jan, your reps are immaculate. always have been. you set a great example and make me check myself when i wod with you. :)
